Meander for Mac
Privacy policy

Meander does not collect, store, or share any personal data.
What Meander checks
To avoid interrupting you, Meander checks a few things on your Mac when a break is due. All of this happens on your Mac, and none of it is recorded or sent anywhere.
- Whether an app is using the microphone, to tell when you're on a call. Meander sees which app is using it, never what it hears.
- Whether an app is keeping the display awake, which video players do while playing.
- Whether macOS is showing its screen recording indicator, to tell when you're sharing or recording your screen. Meander never sees what's on your screen.
- How long since you last typed or used the mouse or trackpad, to tell when you've stepped away or are mid-sentence. Meander never sees what you type.
- When your screen locks or your Mac sleeps, to count that time as a break.
Meander stores only its own settings and a count of today's breaks on your Mac.
Update checks
The version downloaded from this website can check it for new versions. It asks before turning on automatic checks, and you can also check by hand in its settings. An update check downloads a small file listing the latest version. Like any web request, it reaches our hosting provider with your IP address and the app's name and version. Meander sends nothing about your activity or your Mac in that request, and we don't use these requests to track anyone.
What Meander does not do
- It does not record audio, your screen, or what you type.
- It does not send anything about how you use your Mac to us or to any third party.
- It has no accounts, analytics, advertising, or tracking.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
